Packaging price benchmarks
PackIndex is a price benchmark for packaging procurement. It helps packaging buyers, procurement and sourcing teams, converters and sustainability managers check what packaging materials and finished packs should cost today, and why.
What you can do:
• Look up today's benchmark price for inputs (crude oil, natural gas, power, aluminium, recovered paper), raw materials (PP, HDPE, PET, pulp), semi-finished grades (kraftliner, boxboard, BOPP film) and finished packs (corrugated boxes, bottles, pouches), in USD and your currency, with recent changes.
• Check whether a supplier's quote is fair against the benchmark and its 12-month range.
• Recalculate an index-linked contract price from its base date.
• Compare one material across Europe, the US, China and the Middle East, see what drove a price move, or view the 12-week outlook.
• See the carbon footprint of a material or pack.
• Estimate the cost of a corrugated box from its size and flute.
With an OPN account you can also:
• Design Studio: turn a short brief into a packaging spec, cost it, and find cheaper or lighter options that still meet your performance floor.
• PACKIQ analyses: analyse a supplier quote line by line, estimate EPR fees, or grade a pack's recyclability.
• Trade Exchange: find suppliers for a material or project and, when you confirm, send them a request for quotation. Your identity is shared only after a supplier responds.
Limitations: values are indicative market benchmarks, not supplier quotes or financial advice, and exclude freight, duties and payment terms. Some features need an OPN account. Cite values as PackIndex with their date.
